Relaxation gas (effect)

Relaxation gas is a status effect representing being under influence of pacifying gas.

"You are thoroughly relaxed and don't feel like moving. Fighting? Too much effort."

  • Effect is applied by the field named relaxation gas.
  • Riot control bots are the most common monsters equipped with relaxation gas.
  • Relaxation gas applies penalties to your stats:
    • strength -3
    • dexterity -3
    • intelligence -2
    • perception -4
  • While under the influence of relaxation gas you only have a small 1 in 8 chance to actually melee attack a monster. "Your willpower asserts itself, and so do you!"
  • If you fail, you lose some movement points and do nothing. "You're too pacified to strike anything..."
  • The same applies to ranged weapons, but the chance of successful attack is slightly better 1 in 5 (but still quite low). "Your eyes steel, and you raise your weapon!"
  • You also lose movement points if you fail the attempt to make a ranged attack. "You can't fire your weapon, it's too heavy..."
  • As expected, this also applies to throwing. "You concentrate mightily, and your body obeys!" Chance to fail and lose movement points is the same as for ranged weapons. "You can't muster up the effort to throw anything..."
  • If you are wearing a gas mask, you are immune to the relaxation gas as long as you keep it on and have an active filter.
